Schedules and General Information

Area 1-P 16U & 19U, League and All Stars Referee Schedules

These competitions are hosted for Area 1-P on the Region 76 Inleague System.

If volunteer referees want to sign up for Area games, including Upper Division, Area League Playoffs and Area All Stars, they would login here: Inleague-Area 1-P

Help - Step by step instructions - > Click here

Note:
Inleague has a New and Classic mode. After signing in, switch to the Inleague CLASSIC and see if you see the Referee Scheduler option. Make sure to select the correct competition, for example:  "Area 1-P League Champions" or "Area 1-P All Stars" or "Area 1-P Upper Division".

Because these competitions are hosted on the Region 76 InLeague76 site, volunteers will need to register as a user in Region 76. This does not mean you are switching to region 76. It is only so you can signup to referee games on their scheduling system.
BE SURE TO USE THE EXACT SAME NAME AND EMAIL YOU USED WHEN REGISTERING FOR YOUR REGION.
How to Register as a volunteer

Registration MUST be current
All volunteers are required to update/re-sign their volunteer applications every year. When logging into the schedule at Inleague 1-P, volunteers might be asked to update their application again - even if already done (if the volunteers is from a region other that 76). They should do it again - it is only so the systems can sync their databases.

Once logged in to the site, choose "Referees" and then "Referee Schedule Signup".

** Make sure you choose the correct competition from the dropdown list,   for example:
"Area 1-P League Champions"   or    "Area 1-P All Stars"   or   "Area 1-P Upper Division".

Approval
To officiate on Area Games (16U/19U, League and All Stars), they might also need to be approved. They can be approved by Derek Fabian ( [email protected] ) or the Area Schedulers, Robert Osborne ( [email protected] ) and/or Mourad Tighiouart ( [email protected] ).  Once approved, log out again, and log in with this link https://aysoarea1p.inleague.org .

If volunteers are having problems registering at Region 76,
they can contact Region 76 Registrars Gil Bar-Zion ( [email protected] )

For the sake of completeness, following are the guidelines we ask all UD (16U and 19U) referees to follow:

  • Please cover at least one AR slot for each ref (center) slot.
  • Only sign up for matches that meet your comfort and badge levels.
  • Games that begin late may be shortened.  Games MUST end on time.
  • Substitutions - All Area 1P 16U and 19U team substitutions will be on the "eighths". There will not be Monitored Substitutions.
Teams from other Areas (Area 1D and 1F) can use their own substitution method.
  • Recording Scores - please enter the scores at Inleague after your match.  Log-on to InLeague, click on "Referees", then "Scores and Standings" in the drop-down menu, then select the division of the game you refereed.  The next screen will ask you to enter the score for your match(es).
  • Sportsmanship Points - Teams from Areas 1D and 1F require that their teams be given "Sportsmanship Points" in accordance with their Rules. These points are to marked on their game cards or monitored substitution sheets.
  • Game Cards -  scan/photograph game cards and monitored sub sheets and email to [email protected]
  • Red Cards - If you have an ejection in your match, please fill out a misconduct report:  Online version  Misconduct Report PDF    Please email it to Ken Kotarski ([email protected]), Area Director, and Derek Fabian ([email protected]), Area Referee Administrator.
  • ID cards - are mandatory beginning TBD.
Before the start of the game, the coach will present the ID cards for all the players shown on the lineup card to the referee. The coach and any assistant coach shall also present their ID cards to the referee. The referee will check the players and coaches against the ID cards and will return the ID cards to the coach.
  • Seeding - Teams will be seeded in the playoffs according to the number of points that they earned during the regular season. The playoffs will be conducted on two weekends following the completion of the regular season.
  • Ejections - If a player, coach, or assistant coach is ejected before, during, or after a game, the coach shall immediately surrender the ID card of the ejected person to the assistant referee or the center referee. The game will not be restarted unless the ID card is surrendered. If the card is not surrendered, the referee may terminate the game. ID cards will be returned after player name and uniform number, or coach name are noted for the misconduct report. Referee Abuse not tolerated

AYSO: Referee Abuse — Not Tolerated

Abuse of referees (or, more generically, game officials) has continued to escalate and has become the #1 or #2 reason that game officials leave a sport.  Raised as an issue during the most recent AYSO Coaches’ Meeting it became very clear, as referees, we need to nip abuse in the bud.  While player, coach and spectator frustration over some of our calls is understandable and under-breath comments tolerated (e.g., “wow”, “Ugh, she really missed that call”, etc.), clear and personal dissent must not be tolerated (e.g., “You suck!”, “How much is that team paying you?”, “You’re an idiot!”, etc.).  We have tools to deal with dissent, and we must not be shy or hesitant to use them.

Warn, Caution, Dismiss
At the first instance of abuse (from a player, coach or spectator), warn them that their comments won’t be tolerated.  At the next instance of abuse (for players and coaches), issue them a Caution (Yellow card).  For spectators, ask the Coach to intervene, with a clear message that the next instance will result in their dismissal from the field.  And, obviously, if the dissent/abuse continues, book the player or coach with a Send-Off (Red card); and the spectator with a dismissal.

And sometimes…Just Dismiss
However, if the abuse involves foul language or actions; racial, gender, ethnic or religious slurs; and is personally directed at you or a player – Send-Off or Dismiss the offender immediately.

Be vigilant and strong in your resolve.  Let’s do our part to put civility back into the beautiful game.
